Client: My client is one of the UK's leading independent building services companies that specialises in the data centre sector. With a traditional engineering mindset and reinvestment into new principals, the business has an annual turnover in excess of £250M, operating nationwide. As a family business, relationship building is central to their culture and values. A huge bulk of their turnover comes from repeat business. This is a standard they strive to maintain by ensuring high standards are upkept across the board.

Role: Electrical Project Manager - £400-£450 per day (Ltd comp or CIS)

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the electrical packages on a £50m M&E value Data Centre in West London.

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Tender review/validation
  • Design Management (reviewing design liaising with client, main contractor and consultants)
  • Procurement of subcontractors, kit and plant
  • Technical submittals
  • RFIs – Liaison with client team, main contractor and sub contractors
  • Value Engineering where applicable
  • Programming of works – using MS Project or Asta project
  • Health & Safety management (RAMs)
  • Commercial Responsibility, assisting with sub contractor variation accounts working alongside project specific Quantity Survey
  • Management of variations
  • Team Coordination (overseeing junior engineers, construction managers and supervisors)
  • Progress meetings with sub contractors, client and internal meetings
  • Overseeing commissioning stages
  • Formulation of OM Manuals and client handover

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience managing projects to a minimum of £5m within your own discipline
  • A minimum 5 years’ experience in a management role
