Client: Working throughout several sectors including commercial, residential, education, the business has seen a significant amount of growth in the last 5 years. With a traditional engineering mindset and reinvestment into new principles, the business expects 2026 to be a similar period of growth. After a successful year they are now looking to increase turnover to £230M, consequently they are looking to expand their operations team. Despite their size, my client is a family owned and run business and this is a trait they pride themselves on with well over 80% of their clients using them on multiple occasions because of the nature of the business.

Role: Senior Mechanical Engineer – London – Salary £80,000 - 95,000 + Full Travel Expenses + Pension + Healthcare + Bonus

The successful candidate will be working on a prestigious £25m Commercial Shell and core to Cat A project in London.

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Read, understand and scrutinise Specifications
  • Assist with management of design stage
  • Procurement of sub-contractors, kit and plant
  • Investigate Value Engineering
  • Assist with preparation of Contract Documents I.e. Method Statements, Risk Assessments, RFI’s, etc.
  • Coordination and management of direct labor
  • Instruct and coordinate site managers
  • Progress reporting
  • Overseeing commissioning and testing
  • Working with Quantity Surveyor on Commercial Accounts
  • Preparation of OMs for final project handover

The ideal candidate:

  • Ideally have a HNC or HND and good technical knowledge of mechanical services.
  • Experience working in the commercial sector
  • Ideally the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as Sir Robert McAlpine, ISg, Mace, Wates, etc.
  • Have the right forward thinking attitude
