Client: Working throughout several sectors including commercial, residential, education, the business has seen a significant amount of growth in the last 5 years. With a traditional engineering mindset and reinvestment into new principles, the business expects 2026 to be a similar period of growth. After a successful year they are now looking to increase turnover to £230M, consequently they are looking to expand their operations team. Despite their size, my client is a family owned and run business and this is a trait they pride themselves on with well over 80% of their clients using them on multiple occasions because of the nature of the business.
Role: Senior Mechanical Engineer – London – Salary £80,000 - 95,000 + Full Travel Expenses + Pension + Healthcare + Bonus
The successful candidate will be working on a prestigious £25m Commercial Shell and core to Cat A project in London.
Role/Responsibilities:
- Read, understand and scrutinise Specifications
- Assist with management of design stage
- Procurement of sub-contractors, kit and plant
- Investigate Value Engineering
- Assist with preparation of Contract Documents I.e. Method Statements, Risk Assessments, RFI’s, etc.
- Coordination and management of direct labor
- Instruct and coordinate site managers
- Progress reporting
- Overseeing commissioning and testing
- Working with Quantity Surveyor on Commercial Accounts
- Preparation of OMs for final project handover
The ideal candidate:
- Ideally have a HNC or HND and good technical knowledge of mechanical services.
- Experience working in the commercial sector
- Ideally the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as Sir Robert McAlpine, ISg, Mace, Wates, etc.
- Have the right forward thinking attitude
