A well-established main contractor is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to act as the commercial Number 2 on a major £55m cut and carve redevelopment with significant commercial fit out elements in Bristol. This is a key project within a strong regional pipeline, offering direct exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to take on significant responsibility on a complex, high-value scheme. The role can be offered on either a fixed-term contract or permanent basis, depending on preference.
The Opportunity
You will support the Senior QS in delivering full commercial management of the project, taking ownership of specific packages and key commercial activities. This is a hands-on role on a live project, with clear progression and the chance to step into a Senior QS position in the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting full commercial management of a £55m project
- Leading on allocated subcontract packages
- Procurement and subcontractor management
- Valuations, cost reporting and forecasting
- Managing variations and change control
- Assisting with risk management and contractual administration
- Supporting final account preparation and project close-out
About You
- Experienced Quantity Surveyor with main contractor background
- Exposure to large-scale refurbishment, cut & carve or fit out projects
- Comfortable working on projects £10m–£50m+ in value
- Strong understanding of standard forms of contract and commercial processes
- Able to work collaboratively within a project team while owning key workstreams
- Ambitious and looking to step up in responsibility
