Job Description
Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor
Location: Central London
Salary: £100,000 to £120,000 (dependent on experience)
A leading main contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering complex fit out and refurbishment projects across London is seeking an experienced Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. This opportunity has become available due to the recent award of several major schemes.
You will join a flat-structured organisation with strong commercial leadership and a collaborative culture. Reporting directly to a highly experienced Commercial Director with well-established industry relationships, you will oversee assistant-level MEP Quantity Surveyors across various project phases. The initial assignment will be a high-profile £25 million MEP Cat A fit out in Central London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full commercial responsibility for MEP packages across designated projects
- Lead procurement processes and manage subcontractor scopes, packages, and contracts
- Prepare and monitor monthly CVRs, payment applications, and cost reports
- Manage change control, risk, opportunities, and variations
- Collaborate closely with project teams, supply chain partners, and client representatives
- Maintain accurate cash flow forecasts and oversee budget control
- Support preparation of extension of time and loss and expense claims
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in quantity surveying, preferably with a focus on MEP
- Strong working knowledge of NEC or JCT forms of contract
- Proven ability to manage the full project lifecycle from pre-construction through to final account
- Confident in reviewing technical MEP drawings, performing take-offs, and identifying variations
- Commercially astute with strong communication and negotiation skills
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is preferred but not essential
