A market leading Main Contractor with a strong track record in delivering complex Cat A Fit Out and Refurbishment projects across London is currently seeking an experienced Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. This is an urgent requirement due to the award of multiple major new schemes.
The contractor operates a flat structure with strong commercial leadership. You will report into a seasoned commercial director with strong client and subcontractor supply chain relationships in the industry and be responsible for assistant level MEP Quantity Surveyors through different phases on projects. The project in mind will be a Β£25M MEP Cat A fit out in Central London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full commercial responsibility for MEP packages on assigned projects
- Take ownership of procurement processes, with support available where necessary
- Prepare and manage subcontractor scopes, packages, and contracts
- Handle monthly CVRs, applications for payment, and project cost reporting
- Monitor variations, change control, and manage risk and opportunities
- Liaise with project teams, supply chain, and client-side representatives
- Ensure accurate cash flow forecasting and budget management
- Prepare documentation for extension of time and loss and expense claims
Requirements:
- 7+ yearsβ experience in Quantity Surveying, ideally within MEP contracting
- Strong knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts
- Able to manage full project lifecycle from pre-construction through to final account
- Capable of reviewing M&E technical drawings, doing take-offs, and identifying variations
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation and communication skills
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred (not essential)
