I\’m currently recruiting for a Senior Design Manager role with a key contractor in the Medway Area.

My client is with a well-established main contractor delivering a diverse range of projects across London and the Southeast, from complex Cut & Carves and high-spec fit-outs to new-build schemes. My clients project values range from £1M to £120M+, across both public and private sector. With a proven track record of successful delivery and longstanding client relationships, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to join the team.
This is a strategic role with a clear path to Principal Design Manager and beyond. The company is known for its supportive environment, low staff turnover, and commitment to internal progression and professional development.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the design process across multiple projects from pre-construction to completion
- Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and key stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant design deliverables
- Provide technical guidance during design development and construction stages
- Review design risk, buildability, and value engineering opportunities
- Chair design team meetings and manage design deliverables within programme and budget
- Liaise with planning, procurement, and delivery teams to align design and construction strategies
- Champion best practices in design management and contribute to process improvement
