Overview

As a Senior Construction Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of works on site, working closely with the Project Director and wider delivery team. You’ll lead key packages, coordinate with multiple trades and suppliers, and drive progress while ensuring safety, quality, and programme targets are met.

You’ll take ownership of site activities across several work zones, managing risk, identifying opportunities, and ensuring communication flows clearly between all parties involved.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site construction delivery across your assigned areas or packages.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to maintain steady progress and quality standards.
  • Monitor and manage health & safety performance, promoting a safe working culture.
  • Support short-term and medium-term planning with look-ahead schedules and input into the master programme.
  • Liaise regularly with internal and external teams to ensure consistent progress reporting and issue resolution.
  • Take a hands-on approach to site logistics, sequencing, and day-to-day operational planning.
  • Help identify and address risks early, collaborating with others to maintain momentum.

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong background in commercial fit-out or refurbishment projects in live or central urban environments.
  • Experience managing multiple packages or zones within larger-scale schemes.
  • Solid understanding of health & safety standards, quality control, and programme delivery.
  • Practical, calm under pressure, and confident in leading site-based teams.
  • Good communication and organisational skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications are essential.
