A leading main contractor is delivering a major hyperscale data centre development in West London and is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the successful delivery of a flagship mission critical project. This is a senior leadership position with full responsibility for the overall delivery of a complex, high-value scheme from preconstruction through to commissioning, client handover and operational readiness.

- Circa £500m total project value

The Role:
Reporting into the Regional Director, the Project Director will take full ownership of the project, leading all operational, commercial, planning, technical and client-facing functions across the development lifecycle. You will provide strategic leadership to the project delivery team, ensuring safe, efficient and commercially successful execution while maintaining programme certainty and technical excellence throughout.
Key responsibilities include:
- Full project leadership across all CSA, MEP, commissioning and delivery functions
- Overall responsibility for programme, commercial performance and project execution
- Leading and managing senior project teams including Construction, Commercial, Planning and Technical Services leads
- Client relationship management and stakeholder engagement at executive level
- Driving project strategy, delivery methodology and risk management processes
- Ensuring integration and coordination across all workstreams and supply chain partners
- Overseeing procurement strategy, subcontractor performance and operational delivery
- Leading project governance, reporting and senior leadership reviews
- Ensuring quality, health & safety and technical compliance standards are achieved throughout delivery
- Managing commissioning, energisation and phased handover strategy
- Supporting wider business growth and contributing to future project opportunities within the mission critical sector
This role requires a proven leader capable of managing large-scale, technically complex construction projects within fast-paced environments.
Requirements:
- Proven experience operating as Project Director or Senior Project Lead on major construction projects
- Strong track record delivering large-scale mission critical, data centre or technically complex infrastructure projects
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across CSA, MEP and commissioning functions
- Strong commercial, contractual and programme management capability
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
- Main contractor or major delivery consultancy background preferred
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive performance across large teams and supply chains
- Experience managing projects through full lifecycle delivery from preconstruction to handover
