Building Services Manager

An established Tier 1 main contractor, known for delivering high-quality residential and regeneration projects across the South East, is looking to appoint a Building Services Managerto oversee MEP delivery acrossmultiple live and upcoming schemes. With a strong reputation for community-driven development and long-term public sector partnerships, the business delivers large-scale housing and mixed-use schemes ranging from £30 million to £50 million in value.

The role is ideal for a technically strong, well-organised building services professional who can manage multiple projects at different stages, while being based within commuting distance of Basingstoke.

The Role

As Building Services Manager, you will take responsibility for MEP coordination and technical delivery across multiple residential schemes, supporting project teams from early design through to commissioning and handover. This is a regional role involving a blend of site visits, head office time, and remote working, depending on project needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the technical performance of MEP packages across multiple residential developments
  • Work with internal teams and external consultants to manage MEP design and coordination through all RIBA stages
  • Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and contractor submittals
  • Provide input during procurement, scoping MEP packages and assisting with technical evaluations
  • Support site teams during installation phases to ensure quality, programme compliance, and regulatory adherence
  • Drive commissioning strategies and ensure successful handovers across schemes
  • Lead risk reviews, coordination workshops, and compliance planning
  • Act as a key interface with clients, design teams, and supply chain partners

About You

  • Background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (Degree, HND, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience managing building services on residential, regeneration, or mixed-use projects
  • Comfortable working across multiple schemes at different stages of development
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regs, SAP/SBEM, NHBC/LABC requirements, and modern sustainable design standards
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ideally based within 45 minutes of Basingstoke.
