💻 AV/IT Technical Services Manager
Please note: This role is specifically for AV/IT professionals with experience delivering AV/IT installations on new build or refurbishment construction projects. It is not suitable for IT or facilities specialists.
A leading UK main contractor delivering high-spec commercial office and mixed-use developments is seeking an AV/IT Technical Services Manager to oversee the design, coordination, and installation of audio-visual, structured cabling, and IT systems across multiple projects.
With a strong pipeline of large-scale schemes ranging from £30M to £200M+, this is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking delivery team on some of London’s most technically advanced builds.
The Role
You will take full ownership of AV/IT systems strategy, from early design development through to commissioning and client handover. Working closely with MEP, design, and commercial teams, your role will be to ensure technical quality, integration, and timely delivery across all packages related to AV, structured cabling, Wi-Fi, network rooms, and smart systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead coordination of AV/IT infrastructure during pre-construction and design stages
- Review and manage drawings, specifications, and technical submissions
- Act as the primary point of contact for AV/IT systems with consultants, clients, and subcontractors
- Support procurement and tender processes for specialist packages
- Manage the integration of AV/IT with MEP and architectural designs
- Monitor progress on site and ensure installation aligns with programme milestones
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and ensure systems meet client operational requirements
- Coordinate handover documentation and support post-completion reviews
About You
- Technical background in IT, AV integration, or Building Services with a focus on low-voltage systems
- Proven experience managing AV, IT, or structured cabling packages on commercial construction projects
- Comfortable working as part of a Tier 1 delivery team, liaising between multiple disciplines
- Strong understanding of digital infrastructure in modern workplaces (e.g. meeting room tech, Wi-Fi, IPTV, access control)
- Excellent attention to detail and coordination skills
- Familiar with working in live or complex environments including CAT A and B fit-outs
