Job Purpose
We are a specialist pump distributor serving the chemical, hygienic, and manufacturing industries in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The Stores Operative role is an integral part of our workshop team and plays a significant role in delivering our products to customers. The key responsibilities of the role are to assist with general workshop duties, as listed below, to help us achieve on-time delivery and provide exceptional customer service.
Job Description:
Goods inward checking.
Order picking and preparation.
Stores control.
Packing and despatch.
Stock checking.
Non-conformance recording.
General workshop and office maintenance.
Following Additional Training:
Forklift operation.
Pump assembly and testing.
Assembly of production order pump sets.
Investigation and repair of returned goods.
Pump repairs.
Principal Accountabilities:
Assisting with goods inwards and despatch.
Picking and storing pumps and accessories.
Stock and inventory control.
General workshop tasks.
Pump assembly.
Pressure testing of pumps.
Inspection of pumps.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
Qualifications: GCSEs (or equivalent) Grade C or above in Mathematics and English (desirable).
Skills and Knowledge: IT literate (essential); General understanding of engineering processes (desirable).
Experience: Experience in a warehouse or similar environment, basic engineering skills, and familiarity with using tools and equipment.
Character: A desire to provide exceptional customer service, eagerness to assist in the continuous improvement of the organisation, ability to promote, embrace, and manage change, contribution to a positive working environment, and being an effective communicator (all essential).
Summary
The role involves assisting with day-to-day tasks, including building pumps, booking in parts, carrying out repairs, and despatching goods. Initial in-house training will be provided, with further training opportunities available with our principal pump suppliers.
