Our client is a growing international logistics business seeking a Customer Service & Operations Coordinator for its Windsor office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with freight forwarding experience who enjoys managing customer relationships, coordinating shipments, and delivering exceptional service within a fast-paced logistics environment.
As Customer Service and Operations Coordinator - Freight, you will be responsible for managing international freight movements whilst delivering outstanding customer service to clients, carriers, overseas partners and suppliers. You will take ownership of shipments from booking through to final delivery, ensuring customers are kept informed throughout the process and operational requirements are completed accurately and efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating import and export freight shipments from origin through to final delivery.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for customers, providing proactive updates and resolving queries efficiently.
- Liaising with airlines, overseas agents, transport providers and customs partners to ensure smooth movement of cargo.
- Preparing and checking operational documentation, including transport and customs-related paperwork.
- Managing shipment bookings and negotiating rates with carriers and suppliers.
- Monitoring shipment progress and communicating any potential delays or issues to customers.
- Supporting customs clearance processes through third-party customs brokers.
- Verifying supplier costs, processing invoices and maintaining shipment profitability.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant freight, customs and transport regulations.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and key service providers.
The successful Customer Service and Operations Coordinator - Freight candidate will have previous experience within a freight forwarding environment and possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
You will ideally have:
- A minimum of 1 year's experience working within a freight forwarding business.
- Previous experience in a Customer Service Coordinator, Operations Coordinator, Freight Forwarder or similar role.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating international import and/or export shipments.
- Knowledge of freight forwarding documentation and operational processes.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Good commercial awareness and confidence dealing with suppliers and customers.
- Experience using freight forwarding or logistics management systems.
- Knowledge of air freight operations would be advantageous.
