Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, implementation, and optimization of automated manufacturing equipment and assembly processes.
  • Take technical ownership of automation systems throughout their full lifecycle, from concept through production support.
  • Design and enhance mechanical systems, fixtures, tooling, and machine assemblies using CAD platforms such as Solid Works.
  • Develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems and HMI interfaces.
  • Design and support electrical control systems, including sensors, actuators, motion components, and safety systems.
  • Program, integrate, and optimize industrial robotics and machine vision solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues while improving system reliability and minimizing downtime.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Establish preventative maintenance strategies and support production start-ups and ramp-ups.
  • Manage capital equipment projects, including vendor selection, commissioning, validation, and production handoff.
  • Prepare business cases, ROI analyses, and capital expenditure requests.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

  • The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in automation, manufacturing engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting experience, including Allen-Bradley and/or Omron platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial robotics such as ABB or Fanuc.
  • Machine vision programming and integration experience, ideally with Cognex or Keyence systems.
  • Proficiency with Auto CAD and Solid Works.
  • Knowledge of motion control systems, HMIs, and automation architecture.
  • Familiarity with UL and CE standards.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive change.
