The Financial Accountant role will take ownership for all statutory reporting, internal controls and financial compliance. The ideal candidate will be confident in challenging old processes and presenting fresh new ideas.
Our Mid Kent based client operates within the Financial Services industry, and are now seeking a Financial Accountant to join their inclusive team on a full time and permanent basis. This role supports a hybrid working pattern (2 days per week in the office).
Financial Accountant Duties include:
- Assist with the production of management accounts and associated general ledger maintenance.
- Perform the financial control/balance sheet control process.
- Assist with cost centre business partner reporting and cost control including assisting with the annual Budget and quarterly forecast processes.
- Provide support in the completion of the quarterly VAT and annual tax returns.
- Support the year end audit and the financial statements production.
- Answer audit queries relating to the statutory accounts.
- Monitor and improve the daily reconciliation of internal and external accounts, ensuring outstanding items are cleared.
- Help develop processes and procedures to ensure efficiency.
A successful Financial Accountant should have:
- Professional qualifications - ACA, ACCA
- Previous Financial Services experience is desirable
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and practices
- Strong technical accounting skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Advanced Excel skills
- Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills for working with internal and external stakeholders
