Reporting to senior site leadership, this position is responsible for driving operational alignment, performance, and continuous improvement across manufacturing functions.

The Senior Manufacturing Manager acts as a central coordination point across Manufacturing, Engineering, and Hygiene functions, ensuring alignment of priorities, resources, and operational standards across the site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Driving operational alignment and consistency across departments and shifts
  • Monitoring and analysing site performance, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions
  • Supporting the delivery of health, safety, food safety, and compliance standards (including HACCP, GMP, and audit readiness)
  • Leading and coordinating cross‑functional continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and cost savings
  • Acting as a deputy to senior manufacturing leadership and supporting the delivery of site strategy and objectives
  • Providing insight into financial performance, including labour, waste, and production costs
  • Promoting strong cross‑functional collaboration and resolving operational challenges impacting production performance

This is a highly visible role with significant influence at plant level, requiring the ability to balance short‑term operational demands with longer‑term strategic improvement initiatives.

Profile
  • Significant experience within a food manufacturing environment at Manufacturing Manager level or above
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards including HACCP and GMP, with relevant qualifications (e.g. HACCP Level 3, Food Hygiene)
  • Proven leadership capability, with experience influencing and coordinating cross‑functional teams
  • A track record of driving operational performance, continuous improvement, and problem‑solving
  • Commercial awareness, with the ability to interpret performance data and contribute to cost control and efficiency improvements
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to challenge and support stakeholders at all levels
