- Description
- Lead and support the year-end close process.
- Prepare statutory accounts and supporting schedules.
- Coordinate and manage external audit requests.
- Complete complex balance sheet reconciliations and reviews.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support preparation of financial statements and disclosures.
- Review fixed asset accounting, accruals, prepayments and intercompany balances.
- Investigate and resolve technical accounting issues.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders across finance and the wider business.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial controls and reporting processes.
- Profile
A successful Year End Accountant should have
- Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Have strong year-end and statutory accounting experience.
- Possess a solid technical accounting background.
- Have previous experience supporting or leading external audits.
- Be comfortable operating in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Be capable of building effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Have prior interim or contract experience, ideally within complex organisations.

Depending on location, sector and complexity of the assignment, we anticipate a day rate in the region of £330-£450 per day, with flexibility for candidates possessing extensive year-end and statutory reporting expertise.
