This Multiskilled Engineer (with an Electrical bias) position in Pontefract involves maintaining and repairing equipment to keep production running smoothly in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry.

Client Details

Our client operates within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry.

They are looking for an electrically bias Maintenance Engineer to join their team, ensuring that production lines run smoothly and efficiently.

  • Description
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for;

Ensuring all factory premises, plant and equipment are maintained correctly and safely to a good working order.

Responding to breakdowns in a quick, timely manner and complete associated paperwork.

Pre-start production checks to be completed daily.

Conduct continuous machine observation and measurement during the shift, identifying potential failure or deterioration in output, waste or quality performance from machine standards.

Determining the cause of potential failure or performance deterioration, and either complete remedial work during the shift or brief the manager on the issue, cause and recommended solution.

Adhere to company Health and Safety and Food Hygiene Policy.

Ensuring audit works are actioned and recorded in line with management timelines.

Preventing production downtime, accidents or injuries through planned preventative maintenance of equipment.

Conduct continuous monitoring of machinery during the shift, identifying potential safety risks and taking necessary actions to remove the hazard.

Ensuring equipment is handed back to Production in 100% safe condition.

Conducting a risk assessment prior to any maintenance work and ensure conclusions are implemented before work starts, to remove hazards to both staff and meat products.

Attending training sessions or courses at the request of the Engineering Manager.

Liaising with Production, Technical, Hygiene and Management, maintaining a good team-focused approach at all times.

Profile

A successful Multi Skilled Engineer should have

  • Apprentice or time served - desirable
  • Able to read electrical drawings.
  • Aware of electrical regulations.
  • Electrical/multi-skilled bias.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • A systematic approach to problem solving and fault finding.
  • Electrical knowledge and fault-finding skills.
  • 17th/18th Edition Electrical.

A salary of £43,000 A permanent position with a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern.

Daytime working hours: 5:30am - 5:30pm and 7am - 7pm.

Working within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry.
