The Tax Team Administrator will play a crucial role in supporting the Tax department within the financial services industry. This permanent role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who has core practical experience in processing self-assessment tax returns and HMRC dealings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Tax team, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Organise and maintain client records and documentation in compliance with industry regulations.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of tax-related documents and forms.
  • Liaise with HMRC where necessary, e.g. payments, PAYE coding notice.
  • Manage communications with clients regarding the self-assessment process (mail merge letters, emails, fees, data records).
  • Coordinate meetings, schedules, and correspondence for the Tax department.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to handle inquiries and provide updates.
  • Support the team with research and data collection for ongoing tax projects.
  • Ensure deadlines are met by monitoring task progress and maintaining schedules.
  • Contribute to process improvements within the Tax department.

Profile

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within financial services or a similar industry but open to background.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling data and documentation.
  • Proficiency in using office software and tools, including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
