Description: As Group Head of Sustainability, you will be the driving force behind our environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy. This is a highly visible, business‑critical role with significant influence across the Group, working closely with the Board, senior leadership, clients and delivery teams to embed sustainability into every aspect of our operations.
You will:
- Develop and lead the Group's sustainability and net‑zero strategy-setting clear, measurable targets aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
- Provide expert guidance on sustainable construction, carbon reduction, modern methods of construction, waste minimisation and circular economy principles.
- Shape and report on ESG performance across all business units, ensuring transparency, compliance and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with pre‑construction, delivery and commercial teams to ensure sustainability is embedded from bid stage through to project completion.
- Represent the business externally, engaging with clients, partners, local authorities and industry bodies to promote innovation and best practice.
- Lead a small but growing sustainability team, fostering a culture of collaboration, empowerment and accountability.
Profile: You will be an influential sustainability leader with the credibility to challenge, advise and guide at executive level. You bring:
- Experience in a senior sustainability role within construction, housing, property development or a related sector.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant standards and frameworks (e.g., PAS 2080, ESG reporting standards, net‑zero pathways, environmental legislation).
- Proven ability to develop and deliver strategic sustainability plans across complex, multi‑site operations.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders-from site teams to the Board.
- A passion for innovation and a results‑oriented approach, underpinned by a strong understanding of commercial realities.
