Description
- Take ownership of a varied personal tax compliance portfolio, including individuals, trusts, and estates, ensuring accuracy and full regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and review complex tax returns, including CGT 60-day reporting, maintaining high-quality documentation and audit-ready records.
- Provide tailored tax advice and planning solutions to individuals, owner-managed businesses, and specialist sectors such as farming clients.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients and HMRC, resolving queries efficiently and professionally.
- Review complex tax work prepared by accounts staff, providing technical oversight and ensuring accuracy.
- Support advisory and research projects across capital taxes, including IHT, trusts, estates, and succession planning.
- Contribute to the tax aspects of financial reporting and statutory accounts preparation.
- Monitor legislative changes and proactively communicate relevant updates to clients and colleagues.
- Collaborate with wider service lines to deliver integrated, high-quality client solutions.
- Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to overall team development.
- Support the growth of emerging service areas, including Making Tax Digital for Income Tax (MTD IT).
Tax Senior Credentials
- ATT qualified, or qualified by experience, with a strong grounding in personal tax compliance.
- Demonstrable post-qualification experience managing a portfolio of personal tax clients with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to deliver accurate, timely compliance work while maintaining high professional standards.
- Strong organisational skills, with the capability to manage multiple client deadlines effectively.
- A reliable and consistent approach, with a reputation for delivering work to a high standard.
- Confident communicator, able to build and maintain trusted client relationships.
- Experience in Trusts and Estates is advantageous, though not essential.
