I'm partnering with a well-established manufacturing business in Swansea to recruit a People and Culture Officer on a 12-month FTC, with the potential to become permanent.
Our client, a well-established manufacturing business in Swansea, is looking for an experienced People and Culture Officer to join their team on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. As People & Culture Officer, you will take ownership of all day-to-day HR activities in the UK, whilst driving a number of key people-focused projects aimed at improving consistency, compliance and employee engagement across the organisation. This role offers flexibility around working days and hours, while providing the opportunity to make a real impact across the business. You will report directly to the General Manager in the UK with a dotted line into the Head of Group People & Culture, based in Europe. At group level, you will work closely with the Group People & Culture team, participate in P&C meetings and handle HR tasks related to the group P&C strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day HR and people administration.
- Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Review and update contracts, policies, procedures and the employee handbook.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and employee engagement initiatives.
- Provide advice and guidance to managers and employees on people matters.
- Develop job descriptions, SOPs and succession planning processes.
- Support the implementation of a new HR system and act as the local super user.
- Drive people-focused projects that enhance employee experience and business performance.
Profile
A successful People and Culture Officer should have:
- Previous experience in a generalist HR role.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law.
- Experience of recruitment, employee relations and HR administration.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
- Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office.
