A leading engineered-products manufacturer is seeking a Supply Chain and Purchasing Manager to lead all procurement activity, strengthen supplier performance, and drive cost-effective material availability across manufacturing and new product introduction.

Description

Reporting into the Managing Director and based at the Dudley plant, the Supply Chain and Purchasing Manager will lead a small team of buyers and all supply chain aspects of the business.

Day to day responsibility will include:

  • Lead procurement strategy covering sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier selection.
  • Manage and develop the supplier base, ensuring quality, reliability, and competitive pricing.
  • Deliver cost-reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, and commercial negotiation.
  • Align purchasing with production, engineering, quality, and project teams to support demand and NPI activity.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry requirements in all purchasing operations.
  • Provide purchasing reporting including supplier performance, spend analysis, and cost-saving progress.

Profile

The successful Supply Chain and Purchasing Manager should have:

Essential

  • A strong CIPS qualification and purchasing experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience of metals and componentry purchasing.
  • Strong negotiation, supplier management, and commercial analysis skills.
  • ERP and Excel proficiency with excellent communication and organisational capability.

Desirable

  • Degree in supply chain, procurement, or business.
  • Experience delivering strategic procurement improvements.
