The Site Assistant Accountant will support the delivery of accurate financial forecasting, analysis and reporting across the business. Working closely with operational and commercial teams, you'll help strengthen financial controls, improve data integrity and provide meaningful insights that enhance P&L performance. This is an ideal role for someone looking to develop their management accounting experience within a manufacturing setting. Client Details A leading UK manufacturing group is seeking a proactive Site Assistant Accountant to join its team. The organisation operates across a number of manufacturing markets. With a strong reputation for high‑performance manufacturing the business delivers reliable, repeatable solutions to its global customer base. This role offers the opportunity to work within a technically advanced environment while contributing to ongoing operational and financial excellence. Description Maintain and develop financial models to support forecasting, costing, scenario planning and investment decisions. Support monthly management accounts, analysing variances and key financial drivers. Analyse manufacturing performance, including scrap, BOM accuracy, labour utilisation, material usage and works order trends. Provide actionable financial and operational insights to leadership teams. Work cross‑functionally to improve data integrity, reduce scrap/WIP/excess inventory and strengthen cost control. Validate labour bookings, material usage and system data accuracy, supporting costing exercises and investment appraisals. Monitor inventory valuation, WIP accuracy and stock movements while ensuring compliance with financial controls. Provide cover for site-based finance administration tasks such as sales/purchase ledger and cashbook activities.Profile Part-qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or equivalent experience. Strong Excel capability and competent analytical skills. Ability to interpret data and identify root causes. Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment (advantageous but not essential). Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Confident communicator capable of working with both operational and financial teams.
