Based in St Helens, our client is a well-established industrial manufacturing company currently recruiting an Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a mixed discipline engineering team.
- Manage the Process Development department and provide troubleshooting, design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of plant and equipment.
- Be proactive in site Health and Safety with a focus on the Engineering aspects, ensuring adherence to current health and safety legislation and engaging all members of the maintenance team.
- Plan, manage, and supervise the daily functions of the Engineering department to ensure the highest levels of machine availability using Total Preventative Maintenance techniques.
- Monitor changes to technology and regulation affecting process, equipment, or people-related operations, implementing improvements as necessary.
- Make capital expenditure proposals in line with safety, production, quality, and engineering requirements, responsible for cost estimating and resource management.
- Manage the Engineering department maintenance budget and time manage the team to support the production process while investigating cost reduction and resource optimisation.
- Oversee the implementation of the site CapEx budget, ensuring timely project approval and subsequent implementation and budget reviews.
- Coordinate and direct maintenance/service resources according to production demand or quality focus, driving condition monitoring improvements in aging plant/equipment.
- Provide high-level technical support to the Process Development and Continuous Improvements department.
- Manage and oversee the design, technical evaluation, installation, and commissioning of new plant and equipment, ensuring health and safety compliance.
- Develop all team members within the Engineering department, emphasising safety, technical know-how, and Total Preventative Maintenance.
- Offer technical support to the Production department in all areas.
- Maintain close liaison with external design engineers to ensure plant and equipment meet operational requirements and relevant standards.
- Drive the introduction of lean manufacturing techniques across all areas within the operations department to enhance performance and maximise operational efficiency.
Profile:
- Proven experience leading a mixed discipline Engineering department (electrical or mechanical or both).
- Strong leadership skills at management or senior management level.
- Demonstrated capability of improving performance and developing a solid engineering team.
- Track record of achievement as an Engineering Manager in manufacturing.
- A reliable, permanent employment background from any manufacturing sector.
Job Offer: £60,000 to £65,000 plus Bonus and Benefits.
