Description:

  • Support the delivery of category objectives aligned to the wider procurement strategy.
  • Contribute to category and product group strategies to improve supply chain performance, reduce risk, and create competitive advantage.
  • Analyse product ranges and routes to market to maximise value for customers and the organisation.
  • Produce accurate reports by gathering and analysing data from multiple sources.
  • Monitor market trends, innovations, and supplier developments to support decision-making.
  • Support new product launches through insights into industry and consumer trends.
  • Collate and analyse key data including cost drivers, market dynamics, and supplier options.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service, resolving complex queries and identifying opportunities to add value.

Profile: A successful Category Manager should have:

  • Proven experience running end to end procurement within public sector.
  • Knowledge of PA23 and proven experience using the new regulations.
  • A strong understanding of category management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ideally experience with Hard FM, ICT and other indirects.
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret market data and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
