This is a hands-on HR Business Partner role supporting a multi-site, project-led business, with a strong focus on employee relations, manager support, and contractor compliance. Description
- Act as the first point of contact for employee relations, including grievances, disciplinaries, capability, and misconduct.
- Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers.
- Support recruitment activity across UK sites.
- Take ownership of contractor management, including onboarding, compliance, documentation, and contract extensions.
- Apply and maintain knowledge of IR35 and contractor compliance.
- Develop and implement processes to track contractor paperwork, expiry dates, and approvals.
- Support manager development and promote HR self-service.
- Contribute to HR projects aligned to UK and European people strategies.
Profile
- A successful HR Manager should have:
- Strong experience as an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor.
- Solid employee relations capability, including handling complex cases up to gross misconduct.
- Knowledge of contractor management and IR35 compliance.
- Experience supporting operational, technical, or project-based teams.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage a high workload, and prioritise effectively.
- Practical experience with HR systems, ideally Workday.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Collaborative, flexible, and adaptable approach to change.
