This is a strategic role responsible for driving digital transformation, information management and business process improvement across a construction and engineering organisation, including the adoption of new systems, technologies and AI-enabled solutions. Leading a team, you will champion change, improve business performance and ensure robust governance, compliance and IM across multiple projects and support functions.

Our client is a growing construction and engineering organisation seeking an experienced Digital Information & Business Transformation Manager to lead the development of information management, business processes and digital systems across both projects and corporate functions. This is a strategic leadership role for someone who combines expertise in information management with a passion for business improvement, digital transformation and organisational change. You will play a key role in shaping how information, systems and technology support operational excellence, regulatory compliance and future growth.

Working closely with senior leaders, project teams, engineering professionals and corporate functions, you will drive the adoption of new ways of working, improve business processes, lead digital initiatives including AI-enabled solutions, and ensure robust information governance across the organisation.

Digital Transformation Leadership

  • Lead business transformation initiatives across project and support functions.
  • Review, analyse and improve existing business processes and workflows.
  • Drive the adoption of digital tools, systems and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies that deliver sustainable behavioural and process change.
  • Act as a champion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Design and deliver training programmes to support adoption of new processes and systems.
  • Measure and report on transformation outcomes and business benefits.

Information Management Leadership

  • Lead information and document control activities across multiple complex construction and engineering projects.
  • Establish and maintain information management standards, processes and governance frameworks.
  • Manage enterprise document management systems and ensure effective utilisation across projects.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, GDPR requirements and project-specific contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate information exchange between clients, consultants, contractors and project teams.
  • Oversee project information handover, asset data and lifecycle documentation requirements.
  • Develop reporting and audit processes that support transparency, quality and compliance.

Stakeholder Management

  • Lead, develop and mentor a team of information management professionals.
  • Partner with engineering, BIM, design, operational and technology teams to align business objectives.
  • Engage senior stakeholders to build support for transformation initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and information excellence.

Essential Experience

  • Experience leading digital transformation, systems implementation or business improvement programmes.
  • Strong change management and stakeholder engagement capability.
  • Experience driving adoption of new processes, technologies and ways of working.
  • Background in construction, engineering, infrastructure or project-based environments.
  • Knowledge of information management, document control or digital project delivery.
  • Experience working with enterprise document management or information management systems.
  • Understanding of ISO 19650, BIM environments or structured information governance frameworks.
  • Experience leading teams, coaching colleagues and delivering training.
  • Strong analytical, process improvement and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience implementing AI or automation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Viewpoint for Projects (4Projects), Fieldview or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with BIM information management and digital project delivery.
  • Understanding of Building Safety Regulator requirements and the Golden Thread.
  • Experience working with operational, commercial or corporate support functions.
