Michael Page is working with a fast growing food manufacturing business to recruit a Packaging Manager. Boasting a multi-factory operation near Wrexham, this family owned business has a broad product range which can be found on the shelves of the UK\’s major retailers.
Description
The Packaging Manager will be responsible for the end to end packaging process for the entire product range. They will work cross functionally to create and deliver a streamlined process ensuring optimisation across all areas.
They will:
- Work closely with NPD, Operations, Technical and Commercial to create and deliver sustainable packaging solutions to external customers
- Source packaging materials, negotiate pricing and build strong relationships with suppliers
- Ensure packaging specifications meet product, customer and legal requirements
- Organise, supervise and support trials across packaging, bakery and transit
- Develop and lead initiatives to reduce packaging waste and improve recyclability, reusability and use of renewable materials
- Train and support internal teams on packaging handling, specifications and sustainability awareness
- Be the face of the business for packaging for both external customers and internally during new product launches, product changes and seasonal campaigns
Profile
The Successful Packaging Manager will possess a range of the following:
- Proven experience in a Packaging focused role within the food industry (bakery advantageous)
- Experience across Procurement and NPD
- Customer facing and supplier management experience
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Experience working cross functionally
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and autonomously
- Working knowledge of packaging legislation and compliance requirements
- Energetic and enthusiastic with a \’team player\’ attitude
Job Offer
Salary of 55,000- 60,000
33days annual leave including bank holidays
