As a Scientific Communications Officer in Oxford, you'll create and manage engaging content to support the organisation's outreach and communication efforts. This role is key in ensuring scientific messages are clear and accessible to various audiences, helping the organisation achieve its goals.
Key responsibilities of the Scientific Communications Officer include:
- Develop and deliver scientific communication materials tailored to diverse audiences.
- Manage the organisation's website and social media channels, ensuring content is up-to-date and engaging.
- Coordinate the production of newsletters, press releases, and reports.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create content that aligns with organisational objectives.
- Support the planning and delivery of events and workshops.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and suggest improvements.
- Act as a point of contact for media and public enquiries.
- Ensure all communications adhere to the organisation's branding and messaging guidelines.
The successful Scientific Communications Officer will have:
- A qualification in structural biology or a scientific related topic.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in writing, editing, presenting and proof-reading.
- Be confident with strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational, prioritisation and timekeeping skills.
- Can-do attitude to work, open to learn new skills.
- Strong technical skills including use of Microsoft Office.
- Previous experience in a communications role or project management skills is desirable.
