We are recruiting for a Transport Shift Manager to lead a fast-paced transport operation within a large FMCG distribution environment, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient delivery performance. This role will take ownership of shift operations, team leadership, service delivery, compliance standards and KPI achievement while driving a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage daily transport operations, ensuring all operational plans are executed effectively.
- Maintain full compliance with Operator's Licence requirements, EU Driving Regulations, Working Time Directive, Employment Law and Health & Safety legislation.
- Drive a proactive safety culture with a commitment to achieving zero accidents and incidents.
- Monitor and deliver transport KPIs, ensuring service levels and customer expectations are consistently achieved.
- Manage shift performance, resource allocation and workforce planning to meet changing business requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact between transport operations and customer service teams.
- Ensure all operational documentation, audits and compliance records remain accurate and up to date.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and training activities to develop a competent and engaged workforce.
- Manage departmental costs and make operational decisions that align with budgetary targets.
- Maintain high operational standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
The Successful Candidate:
- Previous experience managing teams within a transport, logistics or FMCG distribution environment.
- Strong understanding of transport legislation, compliance requirements and operational best practice.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop teams.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-moving environment.
- Effective communicator with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience using transport scheduling systems such as Paragon.
- Knowledge of JD Edwards software would be beneficial.
- CPC qualification preferred but not essential.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.
- A positive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach to change and continuous improvement.
