A 6 month fixed term assignment with immediate start! The Network Specialist is required to ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including servers, routers, switches, hubs, and UPSs. The role also requires some design and implementation of new solutions and improving the resilience of the current environment.

Client Details: Our client is a Global organisation in the Manufacturing and production sector.

Description:

  • Management and support of site-specific connectivity and infrastructure technology with a focus on delivery and daily operations.
  • End to end management of service tickets, including updating, prioritising and categorisation.
  • Technical lead for Infrastructure & Operations major incidents and completing RCA's (Root Cause Analysis & lessons learnt documentation).
  • Ensuring Daily/Weekly/Monthly maintenance checks are completed.
  • Manage connectivity service queues, incidents and requests.
  • Responsible for supporting and maintaining connectivity (LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi).
  • Monitor network systems and provision network in line with the change control process.
  • Update and maintain operational documentation in line with IT audit requirements.
  • Proactively monitor and report on availability, performance and capacity for connectivity components and services.
  • Work with Project Managers to develop high-level project schedule resource plans for project implementation.
  • Follow all service management processes, policies and standards.

Profile: A successful Network Specialist should have:

  • CCNA, CCNP certified.
  • Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation.
  • Working knowledge of SDWAN, Cisco and Meraki products.
  • Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
  • Strong hands-on technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems.
  • Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards.
  • Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
  • Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
  • Provide out-of-hours support and participate in 24x7 on-call rotas, if required.

Job Offer: A competitive salary up to £55,000. Comprehensive benefits package. 6 month contract (Fixed term). Hybrid working - occasional travel to HQ in Gloucestershire so we expect successful candidate to travel to site within 1 hour.
