The role of Merchandiser in the retail industry is focused on managing stock levels, analysing sales data, and ensuring product availability to meet customer demand. This position, based in Oldham, requires a proactive approach to planning and organization within a fast‑paced environment.

Description

  • Stock management, working to multiple supplier lead times to meet stock KPI targets and achieve 100 % availability to demand
  • Analyzing customer forecasts and sales information (weekly/monthly/year‑over‑year) to aid effective planning
  • Working effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure cohesion between sales, merchandising, production and warehouse
  • Actively monitoring sales forecasts and performance, communicating issues to the customer and channels team for timely resolution
  • Extensive use of Excel spreadsheets to provide accurate data, including: maintaining customer and internal sales performance vs forecast vs stock reports; planning stock purchase demands and warehouse intake schedules; reporting stock status and clearance lines to sales teams to prompt targeted promotion
  • Continuously monitoring sales run‑rate performance in line with stock availability to maintain targeted weeks cover
  • Managing stock to ensure targeted availability while keeping levels at optimum to optimize the storage facility
