The Mechanical Technician’s role is to execute maintenance tasks in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring the continuous functioning of the plant machinery within the Industrial industry. They will be responsible for routine and preventative maintenance procedures, fault diagnosis, and repairs within a team-oriented environment. Client Details Our client is a leading player in the Industrial sector, boasting a sizeable workforce. The company operates in numerous locations across the globe and is known for its commitment to sustainability and innovation. They have a reputation for a strong focus on staff development and welfare within their Glasgow location. Description The Mechanical Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all the mechanical equipment at the plant, providing support to other disciplines as necessary using experience and skills. The Mechanical Technician will assist in the co-ordination of contractors as required, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. Diagnose faults and execute repairs promptly. Ensure maintenance targets and plans are achieved safely, economically and within the environmental limits of the plant. Carry out fault diagnosis and rectify as required Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times. Ensure that all reporting within the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is effective and completed promptly. Participate in out-of-hours emergency call outs when needed. (1 in 4 weeks) Continually develop personal skills and knowledge in line with industry advancements.Profile A successful Mechanical Technician should have: Possess appropriate technical qualifications such as a City & Guilds/NVQ (or equivalent) including a recognised apprenticeship. Experience in mechanical engineering of process industry, or power plants would be beneficial. Experience working with Maintenance Management Systems. The ability to work well within a team environment. An understanding of Health and Safety regulations.Job Offer A competitive salary up to £45k, with an additional £2300 shift allowance. (1 in 4 weeks) Overtime payment (when/if called out) at 1.5 times the hourly rate for call outs, minimum 4 hours. A supportive and inclusive company culture that values employee development.
