We're hiring a Maintenance Technician to diagnose faults and carry out routine servicing, repair, maintenance, testing and occasional installation of complex plant and machinery. It's a hands-on mechanical role in a safety-critical, chemically hazardous environment where Permit to Work and strict site safety systems are central to how you operate.

This role involves diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out corrective repairs, preventative maintenance and routine servicing on complex plant and machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and complete corrective repairs on complex plant, machinery and associated components
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and routine servicing to schedule
- Assemble, position, install, disassemble, remove/replace and reinstate mechanical equipment and systems
- Test equipment, identify defects/anomalies, and take appropriate action to resolve issues
- Work safely and compliantly within legislative, regulatory, local procedures and site safe systems
- Operate effectively within a formal Permit to Work (PTW) system and follow reporting lines/procedures
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards and OEM manuals
- Select and use tools/equipment correctly, following approved methods, quality controls and safety procedures
- Maintain care, security and accountability for tools and equipment
- Capture and handle digital information (CMMS / tablets / reporting tools) to support maintenance activities and communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Ensure work areas are prepared and reinstated correctly, understanding the consequences of poor housekeeping or incorrect reinstatement
Profile:
- Time-served or qualified in a relevant mechanical discipline via ECITB (or equivalent) apprenticeship, or HNC/D with strong hands-on experience
- Awareness of CompEx working practices (particularly relevant in hazardous environments)
- Confident working within Permit to Work (PTW) and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements
- Strong fault-finding and practical mechanical maintenance capability on complex plant/machinery
- Able to interpret drawings, manuals, specifications and follow planned work instructions
- Comfortable using digital systems for maintenance records, reporting and communication
- Safety-first mindset with a disciplined approach to procedures and quality standards
- Food industry experience/understanding is beneficial (not essential)
