About Our Client
As a Planning NQ-4 you will join our client's national Planning & Infrastructure Consenting team in Manchester, working on complex, high-profile planning, regeneration and infrastructure matters across the UK. The role offers broad exposure to strategic advisory, transactional and contentious planning work, with the chance to work closely with leading partners and a diverse client base across the public and private sectors.
The Manchester Planning & Infrastructure Consenting team is a thriving part of the practice, with a strong and growing profile in development, regeneration and infrastructure work. The team has both a strong local profile and the wider team has a leading national presence across the Leeds, London, Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.
The team works with national housebuilders, strategic land promoters, investors, retailers, universities, charities, local authorities, public bodies and joint venture vehicles and plays a central role in the Firm's continued growth. The team advises clients on a broad range of matters including strategic land, major residential and mixed-use schemes, city centre regeneration, highways, compulsory purchase, nuclear, planning litigation and infrastructure consenting (including transport and energy-led schemes).
Job Description
As a Planning NQ-4 your duties will include:
- Provide advice on planning applications, appeals, and related matters.
- Draft and negotiate legal documents, including planning agreements.
- Support clients through the planning process, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues on complex planning cases.
- Advise on environmental and infrastructure planning issues.
- Conduct legal research to support case preparation.
- Represent clients in planning hearings and inquiries.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of planning law and policy changes.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Planning Solicitor NQ-4 should have:
- Qualified solicitor status in England and Wales.
- Strong understanding of planning law and related regulations.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail and analytical thinking.
What's on Offer
- Salary dependent on the level of experience: Β£65,000 - Β£77,500.
