This is an exciting opportunity for an HR Consultant to provide comprehensive policy support within a founder led SME in the industrial and manufacturing environment. The role is a very short term (2-8 week) policy review and update project based in Maidenhead and requires a hands-on and pragmatic approach to policy review and updating.

Description
The HR Consultant will be responsible for a policy review and update project expected to take from 2-8 weeks depending on the Consultant. This will include:
- Review the current employment contracts to ensure compliance with current legislation. The contracts to be reviewed are General, standard contract, Apprenticeship contract & related documents, Fixed term contract.
- Review of current staff handbook to ensure compliance with current legislation - update as required.
- Review, if possible, of company policies and update if required - Anti-Bribery, Corporate Responsibility, Equal Opportunities, H&S Statement, ESG Policy, Ethical Procurement, GDPR, Fraud & Malpractice, Modern Slavery, Restrictive Covenant.
- Prepare a new contract of employment to cover a short-term period with a wind-down to retirement.
Profile
A successful HR Consultant should have:
- Demonstrable experience within an HR Consultant position previously.
- A strong understanding of UK employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively while working pragmatically with the MD within a founder led business.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Confidence in handling sensitive HR matters with discretion.
- Ability to make decisions as the standalone HR member.
Job Offer
The successful HR Consultant will receive:
- Competitive daily rate between £330 and £380 via Umbrella, depending on experience.
- Ability to work from home majority of the time - just need to be in commuting distance of Maidenhead for various meetings.
- Possible future consultancy work with the business.
- Temporary position offering flexibility and variety.
