Due to continued investment in its Property Directorate, the organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Property Surveyor to provide technical leadership across complex repairs, structural defects, damp and mould investigations, and specialist property issues. This role offers the opportunity to manage a small team of surveyors, influence service improvement initiatives, and ensure residents receive safe, compliant, and effective property solutions.

Description- Lead and manage a small team of surveyors responsible for complex repairs, building defects, damp and mould cases, and specialist property matters.
- Act as the senior technical expert within the Property Directorate, providing guidance and support on challenging building faults and structural issues.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex property defects, ensuring appropriate remedial solutions are identified and implemented.
- Manage a varied caseload including damp and mould cases, insurance-related works, specialist repairs, and non-routine maintenance issues.
- Undertake detailed property inspections and surveys to identify defects and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Apply building pathology principles to accurately diagnose the root causes of building failures and maintenance issues.
- Assess properties using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and identify Category 1 and Category 2 hazards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, policies, and organisational standards across all surveying activities.
- Monitor team performance and ensure accurate record keeping, case management, and system updates are maintained.
- Provide technical oversight and post-inspection support to colleagues, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Support the delivery of planned maintenance and ad hoc capital replacement works where necessary.
- Review and assess resident home improvement requests, ensuring proposals do not adversely impact the housing stock.
- Work collaboratively with operational, maintenance, compliance, and customer service teams to deliver effective property solutions.

- Detailed knowledge of damp and mould investigation techniques and remediation strategies.
- Experience applying the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and assessing Category 1 and Category 2 hazards.
- Strong knowledge of building pathology principles and defect diagnosis methodologies.
- Experience investigating structural issues and recommending appropriate remedial solutions.
- Thorough understanding of the NHF Schedule of Rates and its practical application within repairs and maintenance services.
- Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance across complex property matters.
