The role of Project Controls Analyst involves supporting the delivery of key projects through effective planning, monitoring, reporting and analytics. This is a permanent role, and would require candidates to be on-site 3 days per week in East London.
Project Controls, Governance & Ways of Working
- Support adherence to the company's delivery governance framework, lifecycle, phase-gates, mandatory artefacts, controls standards, and approvals.
- Ensure controls processes for schedule, cost, risk, issues, changes, and reporting are consistently applied across all projects.
- Assist Project Managers in preparing high-quality governance materials and decision-ready information.
Planning, Scheduling & Baseline Management
- Develop, maintain, and quality-check project schedules aligned to scope, dependencies, milestones, and resource plans.
- Track progress, analyse variances, and provide timely early-warning indicators.
- Support integrated planning across the programme, ensuring alignment to the company's project lifecycle and stage-gate controls.
- Support development and maintenance of cost baselines, budgets, and forecasts.
- Track actuals vs. budget, validate variances, and collaborate with Finance to ensure alignment and accuracy.
- Support period-end reporting including accruals, commitments, and approved changes.
Risk, Issue & Change Control
- Maintain project risk and issue logs ensuring mitigations, owners, and due dates are current and effective.
- Administer change control processes and support impact assessments on scope, cost, schedule, and risk.
- Escalate emerging risks and deviations through Project Services and governance forums.
Reporting, Analytics & Data Quality
- Produce periodical project reporting packs, dashboards, KPIs, and performance insights.
- Ensure data accuracy across schedules, costs, risks, milestones, and change logs.
- Develop high-quality analytics to support trend analysis, forecasting, governance reviews, and executive reporting.
- Champion improvements in data quality, document control, and audit-readiness across Project Services.
- Use and enhance PPM tools to improve accuracy, automation, and reporting speed.
- Support the continuous improvement of controls processes, templates, dashboards, and governance routines.
- Participate in lessons-learned reviews and help embed improvement actions across Project Services.
Profile
Technical Skills
- Strong working knowledge of project controls disciplines (schedule, cost, risk, change, reporting, and governance).
- Strong analytical capability with experience in Power Platform, Power BI (preferred) or similar reporting tools.
- High accuracy in data handling, documentation, and numerical analysis.
- Familiarity with PMO/controls standards in capital, operational, or transformation environments.
- Ideally, proficiency in scheduling tools (MS Project; Primavera desirable).
Soft Skills
- Structured thinker with strong analytical/problem-solving skills; resilient under ambiguity and competing priorities.
