As a Mechanical Engineer, you will deliver planned and reactive maintenance across a diverse range of building services systems to ensure the facilities remain safe, compliant, and operational. Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on HVAC systems, pumps, boilers, ventilation systems, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), chilled beams, hot and cold water systems, and plumbing installations.
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults to ensure safe and efficient building operation.
- Undertaking minor installations, repairs, and modifications.
- Supporting water hygiene management activities, including Legionella control measures and remedial works.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records using CAFM and digital reporting systems.
- Participating in compliance audits and statutory inspections.
- Working closely with colleagues and contractors to coordinate maintenance activities.
- Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and recommending solutions.
- Participating in a scheduled on-call rota to support critical estate operations.
Profile:
A successful Mechanical Engineer should have:
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Plumbing & Heating, or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience working in a mechanical maintenance environment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across building services systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps, hot and cold water systems, AHUs, FCUs, and chilled beams.
- Understanding of statutory compliance and health & safety requirements.
- Legionella awareness and water hygiene knowledge (HSG274 / L8).
- Good IT skills, including experience using CAFM systems, mobile devices, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and email.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of service and compliance.
Job Offer:
Salary ranging from £39,000 to £43,900, dependent on the level of experience. A permanent position in London. Additional benefits package included.
