The EC&I Engineer will have heavy involvement in maintenance scheduling and site projects within an industrial/manufacturing environment. This position is based in Purfleet-on-Thames and requires a strong technical background to ensure the smooth operation and optimisation of processes.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the expert authority on site with regards to EC&I systems, ensuring the plant is maintained safely and systems are always available.
  • Work closely with the mechanical and operations departments, planning strategic and reactive maintenance around the production requirements to meet commercial KPIs.
  • Manage projects as required, ensuring the company receives high levels of quality, cost-effectiveness and customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant and changing legislation, maintaining a continuous improvement approach to EC&I systems and technology, with important focus on BS7671 and BS6626.
  • Develop the CMMS system to align operation and maintenance of the plant with the O&M manuals and bespoke plan requirements.
  • Day-to-day manage the in-house electrical team of electricians/EC&I technicians, including scheduling, safe systems of work and managing the out-of-hours call-out rota for 24/7-365 coverage.
  • Manage EC&I contract requirements, day-to-day maintenance contractors and packages of work.
  • Oversee the installation, testing and ongoing operation of plant monitoring systems and machine protection systems.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications in electrical engineering, control systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in the industrial or manufacturing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, control and instrumentation systems and principles.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for design and analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
