This role focuses on ensuring accurate financial reporting within an SME Business Bank. The Financial & Regulatory Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining the Statutory Reporting cycle, high-level regulatory returns (can be learnt as template-driven), and involvement within the FP&A side commercial in the Accounting & Finance department.

Description:

  • Prepare accurate financial statements and reports (IFRS / GAAP).
  • Regulatory returns (high-level - template driven so can be learnt).
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and external audits.
  • Monitor and analyse financial data to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate reporting and data integrity.
  • Keep updated on changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Accounting & Finance department with ad hoc projects and reporting requirements.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial processes and controls.
  • Assisting with FP&A as well so great opportunity to build into budgets/forecasts/P&L and modelling - Power BI visualisation.

Profile:

  • A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
  • Experience in financial reporting within any lender.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within the Accounting & Finance team.

Job Offer:

  • Competitive salary between £65,000 and £70,000.
