The Community Engagement Manager leads day‑to‑day community engagement, events and programmes, ensuring members receive a high‑quality, inclusive and supportive experience. The role combines team and volunteer management, event delivery, and membership onboarding and retention, using insight and feedback to continuously improve community services.

Description:

  • Lead the planning and delivery of a varied programme of in‑person and community events, ensuring high quality experiences from conception to post‑event follow‑up.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for members and prospective members, handling enquiries related to membership, events and services with professionalism and empathy.
  • Design and oversee a welcoming member onboarding journey, introducing new members to events, programmes and community life to support retention and engagement.
  • Use membership data, CRM insights and feedback to shape event programming, improve attendance and inform future planning.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure events are well‑promoted, inclusive and aligned with member interests.
  • Recruit, train and manage volunteers to support events and community activities, ensuring clear roles and a positive experience.
  • Line‑manage and coordinate administrative support to ensure smooth event operations and consistent member service standards.
  • Monitor engagement, attendance and retention, producing reports and recommendations to support membership growth and continuous improvement.

Profile:

  • Proven experience delivering membership‑focused events and programmes end to end.
  • Strong background in membership services, onboarding and retention.
  • Confident managing volunteers and small teams to deliver consistent, high‑quality outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder and relationship‑building skills, with a community‑first mindset.
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Data‑driven, comfortable using CRM insights and feedback to shape engagement strategies.
