The EC&I Engineer Manager will be based in Purfleet-on-Thames. The role focuses on maintaining the plant’s electrical, control and instrumentation systems in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Act as the expert authority on site regarding EC&I systems, ensuring plant safety and availability of systems.
- Plan strategic and reactive maintenance with mechanical and operations departments to meet commercial KPIs.
- Manage projects to achieve high quality, cost‑effectiveness and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with evolving legislation, adopting continuous improvement for EC&I systems and technology, with an important focus on BS7671 & BS6626.
- Develop the CMMS system in line with O&M manuals and bespoke plan requirements.
- Day‑to‑day manage the in‑house electrical team of electricians/EC&I technicians, planning work schedules, enforcing safe systems of work and managing the 24/7‑365 out‑of‑hours call‑out rota.
- Manage EC&I contract requirements and day‑to‑day maintenance contractors, as well as packages of work.
- Oversee installation, testing and ongoing operation of plant monitoring systems and machine protection systems.
Qualifications
- Qualifications in electrical engineering, control systems or a related field.
- Proven experience in the industrial or manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, control and instrumentation systems and principles.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for design and analysis.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
