A senior finance leader to join a north west based charitable organisation at a pivotal time of growth and transformation. This is a high-impact role combining strategic finance leadership, operational oversight, and income sustainability within a values driven charity environment.
Reporting to Directors and working closely with Trustees, you will play a critical role in ensuring long term financial sustainability, driving robust governance, and supporting the delivery of services to the community.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of long term financial strategy, including 3-5 year financial planning and scenario modelling.
- Provide financial advice to the Executive Team, Board of Trustees, and Committees delivering financial insights for decision making and growth.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and production of monthly management accounts.
- Manage cashflow, reserves, and investment performance.
- Ensure compliance with charity SORP, statutory reporting, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead on audits and maintain strong relationships with external auditors and regulators.
- Act as a key advisor on financial governance and risk management.
- Ensure compliance with charity law, Companies House, HMRC, and other regulatory bodies.
- Work closely with fundraising and commercial teams to maximise income streams.
- Provide financial modelling and analysis to support fundraising campaigns, grant applications, and income diversification.
- Oversee financial performance across large and complex income generating portfolios, including trading activity and partnership initiatives.
- Support the development of business cases for new services and investments.
Qualifications
- Part Qualified or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Senior finance leadership experience within charity, healthcare, or not for profit sectors.
- Demonstrable experience managing large budgets, complex portfolios and income streams.
- Strong understanding of financial governance, compliance, and risk management in a regulated environment.
- Experience supporting or leading fundraising finance or income generation strategies.
- Proven ability to influence at Board level and communicate complex financial information clearly.
- A track record of driving organisational improvement and change.
