To provide proactive, financial guidance to senior managers and budget holders, ensuring their areas use resources effectively, make informed decisions, and deliver strong financial performance based on sound analysis and insight.

Develop relationships with budget holders and senior leaders, ensuring their financial needs are understood and supported. Act as the main finance contact for your portfolio, owning service level expectations and ensuring a high quality business partnering service. Monitor, analyse, and report on the financial position of departments, providing clear insight to stakeholders. Produce accurate forecasts and highlight opportunities, risks, and efficiency improvements. Review payroll spending, ensuring alignment to establishment figures and investigating any variances. Work closely with budget holders to develop realistic and achievable annual budgets. Review expenditure across supplies, services, and operational areas, recommending efficiency opportunities. Build strong links with internal support teams (HR, Finance Operations, Admin, IT, Estates, etc.) to support delivery of accurate financial management.

A successful Finance Business Partner should have:

  • Part qualified studier ACA/ CIMA/ACCA/ CIPFA
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Demonstrable stakeholder management abilities.
  • First time move from practice would be highly desirable.
