As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely transactional processing across the business. This is a varied and hands‑on role where no two days feel the same. You will be involved in:
- Processing purchase invoices, including OCR capture and coding
- Preparing and processing sales ledger invoices for corporate clients
- Reconciling revenue against activity and preparing accrued/deferred income journals
- Reconciling 3rd‑party provider revenue with operational system data and bank entries
- Posting bank transactions and supporting full bank reconciliation
- Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and processing depreciation
- Preparing prepayment and accrual journals for review
- Managing intercompany postings, invoices, and journals
- Supporting supplier payment runs
- Assisting in reviewing investment fees charged to clients
- Loading payments into bank systems for approval
- Reviewing staff expenses and ensuring correct VAT recovery
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts and investigating aged items
- Helping the wider Finance Team with ad‑hoc duties as needed
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys structure, accuracy, problem‑solving, and working as part of a supportive and friendly team.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:
- Experience in a finance, accounts, or transactional processing role (purchase ledger, sales ledger, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and confidence working with numbers
- Good understanding of Excel and financial systems
- Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and work to deadlines
- A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Great communication skills and a collaborative approach
If you are currently studying AAT or looking to start your qualification, that’s a bonus—but not essential.
