An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Litigation / Regulatory Lawyer to join a leading UK regulatory body in Birmingham on a 12 month fixed term contract. Working on complex and often high profile investigations, this role offers exposure to major public interest cases alongside experienced forensic accountants and legal professionals. Description

  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary investigations team alongside lawyers, forensic accountants and legal assistants
  • Supporting complex regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings
  • Managing discrete areas of high profile cases and progressing investigations forward
  • Reviewing complex financial, audit and regulatory material
  • Drafting legal documents, preparing evidence bundles and assisting with disclosure exercises
  • Supporting tribunal preparation and attending hearings where required
  • Liaising with external counsel, experts and third party providers
  • Conducting legal and policy research relating to enforcement matters
  • Assisting with case strategy, budgets and expenditure monitoring
  • Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues within the team

Profile

  • A solicitor or barrister qualified in England & Wales with at least 2+ years PQE
  • Experienced in commercial litigation, and or regulatory law, and or white collar crime and or financial litigation
  • Able to demonstrate excellent analytical and legal reasoning skills
  • A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
  • Comfortable managing complex matters under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Motivated, resilient and capable of making fair and robust legal decisions
  • Passionate about regulatory and public interest work
  • A collaborative and supportive team player
  • Able to commute to Birmingham 40% of your time
