I am pleased to be supporting a well respected independent accountancy firm in the Leatherhead area with their recruitment of a part-time Tax Manager

Client Details

Our client is a well established, general practice accountancy firm based close to Leatherhead.

Following a member of staff retiring, our client is looking to bolster its tax team.

The tax team work in a collaborative way (sharing compliance and advisory work and allocating accordingly based on current work load and most suitable skill set etc).

The role can be offered 3 days or 4 days per week.

  • Description
  • Process tax compliance for a portfolio of clients (private client tax bias - some corporate tax compliance involved too).
  • Provide tailored tax advisory services to meet client requirements (in relation to CGT & IHT).
  • Ensure all tax filings are accurate and submitted on time.
  • Stay updated on tax legislation and assess its impact on clients.
  • Collaborate with other departments to deliver a seamless service.
  • Identify opportunities for tax planning and efficiency improvements.
  • Support clients during HMRC queries or audits.
  • Work in collaboration with the wider tax team (team of 3).

A successful Tax Manager should have

  • Strong knowledge of UK tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in personal tax (required), experience of corporate tax (desirable).
  • Experience in managing a portfolio of clients.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in tax software (experience using IRIS is preferred) and related tools.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • A relevant tax or accounting qualification (ATT/CTA/ACA/ACCA). Qualified by experience candidates will be considered.
  • Job Offer
  • Salary between £50,000 and £60,000 FTE.
  • Part-time (3 or 4 days a week), permanent position offering flexibility.
