An established engineering firm specialising in filtration and pressure vessel systems is seeking a Junior Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity for a mechanical engineer with around four years' experience looking to develop their skills in a technically challenging and supportive environment.

Support senior engineers in designing pressure vessels and filtration systems by producing general arrangement and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar CAD software.

  • Assist with engineering calculations and ensure designs comply with relevant codes such as ASME VIII Div 1, PD5500, and PED.
  • Contribute to post-order project tasks, supporting timelines, budgets, and technical deliverables.
  • Help resolve manufacturing and fabrication issues, liaising with customers and fabricators as needed.
  • Participate in occasional site visits to take field measurements and support installation.
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation, bills of materials, and ERP system updates.

Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer or related discipline.

  • Approximately 4 years of relevant design experience, preferably in pressure vessels, filtration, or industrial equipment.
  • Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software such as AutoCAD or Inventor.
  • Familiarity with pressure vessel codes like ASME VIII Div 1 and PD5500 is preferred.
  • Experience or exposure to design calculation tools or FEA software (e.g., PV Elite, ANSYS) is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Eligible for UK security clearance or able to obtain it.
