This interim assignment will provide leadership across HR and payroll, manage key people priorities, support organisational change and lay the foundations for the incoming permanent Head of HR through improved processes, reporting and strategic workforce planning. Due to the operational nature of the business, this role is based on-site 4/5 days per week.
Key objectives for the Interim Head of HR include:
- Provide day-to-day leadership of the HR and payroll function, ensuring continuity and compliance.
- Manage and progress complex employee relations matters and employment documentation.
- Support the recruitment and onboarding of the permanent Head of HR.
- Introduce meaningful people reporting and strengthen HR processes and governance.
- Partner with the leadership team on workforce planning, organisational development and strategic people initiatives.
- Deliver a clear HR roadmap and handover plan to support the long-term success of the function.
The successful candidate will be an experienced HR leader with a strong generalist background, ideally gained within a multi-site, operational environment. You will be comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on, providing senior-level advice while managing day-to-day HR priorities.
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience leading an HR function at Head of HR or senior HRBP level.
- Strong employee relations expertise, with the ability to manage complex casework confidently and independently.
- A solid understanding of UK employment law, HR compliance and policy development.
- Experience partnering with senior leaders on people strategy, workforce planning and organisational change.
- A pragmatic, commercially focused approach and the ability to build credibility across all levels of the business.
- The confidence to work autonomously, quickly assess priorities and drive improvements in a fast-paced environment.
